Single Session Counselling
SST is an approach to therapy introduced by Windy Dryden. It refers to more directive therapy that focuses on a specific topic. It aims at delivering 'therapy at the point of need'. SST is recommended to last between 1-3 sessions, with long-term therapy available if required beyond that.
What is Single Session Counselling?
Single Session Counselling, was introduced by Windy Dryden; it implies that the one session may well be the first and last session, and the aim is that the most is made of that session. Some clients also use single-session counselling as an exploratory session, to decide whether longer-term therapy is potentially beneficial to them and their circumstances. Should this be the case, I will check this with you and agree with you what the best way may be to proceed with further sessions.
